Specialized production – with a feeling for the raw material

Setra, Swedens largest wood products company, operates from 16 locations in Sweden. The most northerly is situated in Kalix and farthest to the south is Vimmerby.

The production is mainly made up of sawn and planed wood products – such as boards, planks, floors and panels – but Setras also produces glulam construction solutions as well as constructing wooden multi-storey houses. The production units are specialized to meet the different customer requirements. All swedish units are certified to both FSC and PEFC.

Setras processing units have a close connection with the sawmills and approx 80-90 percent of the raw material used in the planning mills and gluelam production is from Setras own sawmills. This enables the raw material to be optimally prepaired for the processing already at the sawmill so the processing gets the best possible prerequisites. At two of Setras units, Rolfs and Malå, the sawmill and planning mill  are fully integrated.

Setras production in brief:

  • 5 specialized red wood sawmills (Horndal, Kastet, Nyby, Skinnskatteberg and Vimmerby)
  • 3 specialized white wood sawmills (Hasselfors, Heby and Färila)
  • 2 integrated processing units (Rolfs and Malå)
  • 3 stand alone processing units (Valbo, Skutskär and Långshyttan)
  • 3 house production units (Arvidsjaur, Kristinehamn and Skellefteå)

More information about the respective units to be found under Our Production places.
